CONTESSA BOB

ABOUT ME!

Hi, I am Contessa, and I come with full honesty in every situation. Let me start with I harbor no shame for what I once didn't know; no one taught me, and I didn't care about my credit at the time.

Growing up on public aid, I vowed never to be as broke as the adults around me. Yet, no one explained the significance of credit or financial management to me. As an adult, I indulged my desires, spending both what I had and didn't. I was caught in a cycle of 'robbing Peter to pay Paul.' Pre-approved offers in the mail were irresistible, and I applied without hesitation, always getting approved. However, I wasn't prepared for the tough times and the responsibility of timely repayments. My credit remained unchecked as life progressed.

Then life evolved, bringing a daughter, a husband, and military life into the picture. We felt affluent, enjoying frequent travels, new vehicles annually, and numerous credit cards. Still, our understanding of credit remained minimal, and we avoided available resources due to embarrassment. When medical issues arose, followed by job loss and dwindling income, we were left with a single income and no savings. After exhausting all options and nearly losing everything, relying only on the support of loved ones, bankruptcy became our only recourse. It was the 'worsbest'—and yes, that's precisely what I mean—decision we ever made. Unfortunately, we realized too late that our attorney was a fraud.

By that time, my husband had served ten years of active duty. We felt shattered, defeated, and utterly disillusioned, and I harbored anger towards everyone, especially myself, for not understanding the harsh realities of life. Following our bankruptcy, we were financially crippled to the point where purchasing even a piece of bubble gum was out of reach. No one was willing to associate with us, a situation that persisted for nearly a decade, reflecting the duration certain bankruptcies remain on one's credit record.

Over the years, I have taken every available course and class, dedicating time to learn, relearn, research, and acquire the necessary knowledge to prevent past mistakes. We've consistently paid all our bills on time and ensured our savings could cover at least six months of living expenses, considering that service members often earn less than some restaurant workers. Consequently, my credit score improved from the 400s to the 700s, and my husband's from the 400s to the 800s. We purchased our first house in 2018, followed by a second in 2021, and a third in 2023. However, it's not as ideal as it sounds. We had to sell our first house due to a military relocation, continue paying for our second while not living there due to another move, and now we reside in our third home. We keep up with our bills, monitor our credit scores, and I also volunteer to help others repair their credit at a lower cost.

Why? Because I've been there, done that, and made a turnaround. Few free services truly accompany you through the entire process of correcting your FICO score, teach you how to manage your finances for the future, and remain by your side for a conversation when needed. Millions spend hundreds monthly on credit services, believing they're secure, only to find previously deleted items reappear on their reports after dispute resolutions. Why impose additional burdens on someone when you don't fully understand their situation? That's where we step in, providing the necessary knowledge to navigate the unknowns, because when you know better, you're expected to do better.

Immerse yourself in positivity, allocate time to focus on your finances and life, and avoid stress. As the old saying goes: you can't squeeze blood from a turnip, which holds true. However, dealing with poor credit and financial hardship can impact your overall well-being. Forget the turnip. We've learned from our past struggles and made a conscious decision to never return to financial ruin. Allow one of our coaches to guide you onto and along the right path.

We're here to support you! Schedule an appointment today to discover more about our services. We'll soon be offering classes and one-on-one sessions for those interested in learning about credit management.
